IMPORTANT NOTE: There is a lot of confusion about this sword and the different versions. As such, we shall provide a timeline for you.
- Early 2000s: The original “1st Edition” of this sword had a wooden handle and the “hooks” on the blade had a strong, pointy grind. The pommel cap was a bright brass color and semi-gloss. Many of the originals had “messy” blade paint. This version has a horizon tabletop stand for display. This SKU was UC1298.
- 2018 – Current: The “new” base Hadhafang has the little claws are smoothed down, not sharp. A picture of this change is uploaded on the page. The handle is resin due to consistency problems with global wood sourcing. The pommel cap is a more rose gold color and matte finish. This version has a horizon tabletop stand for display. This SKU is UC1298.
- In 2026, the “25th Anniversary Edition” will be coming out. This new edition is shown in the pictures attached. This edition has a resin handle. However, the sword has been completely retooled from the early 2000s – current edition. The blade overall is much closer to the original prop, the inscription has also been redone with more consistent paint, and the handle itself has a much smaller profile. The pommel cap is a more deep gold color and matte finish. This version has a vertical wall plaque for display. From UC design, “We went back to the original movie prop and made all new 3D CAD, more closely following blade shape. Particularly correcting the blade width, restoring the blade hooks, and improving the quality of the blade inscription. The grip and pommel shapes, and pommel color also more closely match the prop again.”

This is a pre-order sale. The current estimate from United Cutlery is September 2026. However, as many of you are aware, not a single pre-order estimate in the past five years has been on time. As such, please follow the Castle Kon Facebook page for updates on this and other pre-orders. Also, if any other seller claims to have this before Castle Kon (other than Weta directly), it is most likely out-of-date information. Castle Kon will receive its pre-ordered amount 3 – 5 days after our distributor gets them in stock from Weta and we ship within a week of receiving the items.
We are setting a $50 + shipping non-refundable deposit with the remainder due August 24, 2026. If the item is shipped earlier, Castle Kon will email to pay earlier. If the ship date pushes out, we shall move the remainder pay date accordingly (or try to since the system does not always work sorry!) Also note, that to get the maximum value out of your %-based coupons, you will receive more savings if you pay in full now.

This is Hadhafang, the sword of Arwen Evenstar, the daughter of Elrond (the former owner) of the sword. This licensed recreation measures 38 1/8″ overall and offers a 30″ 420 stainless steel blade with sharp edge and laser etched runes. The solid wooden grip is accented with metal pommel and unique vine design. Includes wooden display stand and certificate of authenticity.
